New Director of Ministerial Recruitment at Concordia Seminary

Rev. Jeffery C. Moore has accepted the call issued him to serve as Director of Ministerial Recruitment at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Rev. Moore brings 18 years of experience in parish ministry to his new position. Prior to accepting this call, Rev. Moore served as senior pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, Ill., a position he has held since 1993. Before this, he served as pastor of congregations in Salisbury, Mo., Chiefland/Dunnellon, Fl., and Woodstock, Ga.

Rev. Moore received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Florida in 1976. He is a 1980 graduate of Concordia Seminary and was awarded a master of sacred theology degree from Concordia Seminary in 1996.

“Rev. Moore combines a wealth of experience in parish ministry with a strong desire to address the shortage of pastors, missionaries and chaplains we are experiencing today,” commented Dr. John F. Johnson, President of Concordia Seminary. “He is a respected pastor, and we are delighted that he will oversee our efforts to identify, inform and encourage qualified men for service in the pastoral ministry.”

Rev. Moore will begin his new responsibilities March 1, 1999. He replaces Rev. Scott Sailer, who accepted a call to serve as pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, S.D.
