Concordia Seminary To Celebrate Black Lutheranism

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, will host its second annual worship service celebrating the history of Black Lutheranism on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 3:00 p.m. in The Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus on the Seminary campus. The service, “Celebrating the Black Lutheran Experience,” is part of a series of events honoring Black History Month at the Seminary. The public is invited to attend.

Rev. Dr. Richard Dickinson, former parish pastor, district executive and executive director of the Commission on Black Ministry for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, will lead the service. The service will include offerings of music by pianist Deborah Mitchell, the Lutheran North Gospel Choir and the Grace Chapel Praise Team. Books and photographs highlighting significant dates in Black Lutheran History will be on display in the chapel’s narthex.
